Exercise Rehabilitation
At Fortitude Rehabilitation and Conditioning (FRC), we understand that returning to exercise, work, and life isn’t always straightforward. Pain, injury setbacks, or reduced strength and mobility can make it difficult to know where to begin. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, or aiming to improve performance, the right exercise approach makes all the difference.
Generic fitness programs or self-directed rehab often fall short—sometimes leading to plateaus, frustration, or even re-injury. That’s where our Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) step in.
Empowering You to Move Well and Live Well
Our AEPs specialise in exercise rehabilitation—using targeted, evidence-based programs to restore function, build resilience, and prevent future setbacks. With expertise in injury management, biomechanics, and strength conditioning, we design programs that:
-
Rebuild strength, mobility, and confidence after injury
-
Progress safely and gradually to reduce the risk of re-injury
-
Emphasise correct technique and sustainable results
-
Support both rehabilitation and long-term goals
At FRC, you’ll have access to our rehabilitation gym at the Fremantle Rowing Club, fully equipped with the tools needed for recovery and conditioning. We also provide mobile services, bringing exercise physiology directly to your home, workplace, or community setting.
Why Exercise Physiology Matters for Long-Term Health
Maintaining peak physical health is one of the strongest predictors of longevity and quality of life. Research shows that:
-
Meeting or exceeding recommended weekly exercise targets can reduce all-cause mortality by up to 31%.
-
Resistance training is essential for preserving muscle mass and bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and frailty.
-
Stronger lower limbs are directly linked to reduced risk of falls, fractures, and even premature mortality.
-
Strength training also supports cognitive health, reducing the risk of age-related decline.
In short: aerobic exercise keeps your heart and lungs healthy, but resistance training keeps you strong, mobile, and independent for life.
How Our AEPs Can Help
Many people think of exercise professionals as simply helping with injury recovery—but our role goes far beyond that. At FRC, our AEPs guide you through programs that maximise strength, mobility, and resilience while minimising injury risk.
We’ll encourage you to step outside your comfort zone—whether that’s lifting heavier weights, improving mobility, or building endurance—always with the right progressions and safety in place.
Our process includes:
-
Comprehensive Initial Assessments (60 minutes) to understand your health history, movement patterns, and goals
-
Tailored exercise programs designed around your needs, whether that’s strength, fat loss, mobility, or condition management
-
Ongoing monitoring and progression to ensure safe, effective results
-
One-on-one or small group sessions to suit your preferences and support needs
Your Path Forward
At Fortitude Rehabilitation and Conditioning, exercise physiology is about more than recovery—it’s about building a stronger, healthier, and more resilient future. Whether you’re overcoming injury, managing chronic health conditions, or striving for peak performance, our AEPs are here to guide you every step of the way.
